Superjail! Hurt/Comfort Fanart Contest!

***Just in case some people were wondering, for this contest, I DON'T want to see any OCs used; ONLY the original SJ characters from the show. Using then OC is kind of cheating, since it's your character and you know it inside and out. One of the challenges of this is to try and convey a H/C piece with characters from the show, NOT characters 'inspired' by the show.

Starting July 1st, contestants will submit a fanart of Superjail, only it must have a H/C (Hurt/Comfort) theme to it.

What is Hurt/Comfort you ask? It's a fandom genre that takes one character, puts them into a situation that results them being 'hurt' (either physically or emotional) and at least one other character shows 'comfort' to them in some way or form.

I myself have been dabbling with this sort of thing with Superjail! for quite sometime, and I'd like to see what other fans of the show can do with it.

RULES

1. 'A picture is worth a thousand words'; You don't have tell a story, just set a scene or situation that shows what's going on, but in a H/C fashion.

If you DO want to tell a story, then make sure it's all on ONE submission. (e.i., like a page from a comic book)

2. Hurt/Comfort has been called a precursor to Slash, which I'm NOT trying to display here. It's possible to do H/C without any Slash involved. (e.i. My 'One Chance' fan fiction is a H/C with Warden and Jared, without any Slash indicated in it. This sort of thing is often classified as 'Friendship' stories)

I do like heterosexual couples* though (Jared&Cherice, Warden&Mistress), so if that's what you'd also like to show in your fanart, go for it!

*In the case with Alice, who we all know is, uh, 'half'n'half', for this contest, that character will be considered a 'she'.

3. Things I'll be looking for in the contest entries:

- The 'level' of H/C; injuries in Hurt/Comfort can range from mild to life-threatening , but it NEVER kills the character! *NO CHARACTER KILLING!!!* Try to be 'creative' with the 'H'.

- The 'emotion'; Whether its a friendship or a pairing, there are emotions involved in H/C, such as fear, desperation, worry, etc. Think of how the characters may react in whatever the situation is, for both the hurt character and the one comforting them.

- Overall style; I'm not going to make the final pick based JUST on style, but it's still a factor. Make sure I can see the feelings of the characters and the 'extent' of the 'hurt'. It can really add to the drama of the scene and that's what can make a good H/C.

DEADLINE

The contest will official start on July 1st and end on August 1st. That's one whole month for the contestants to draw and submit their fan art. After wards, I'll judge all the entries and choose the winner within a week.
